“One time of Rs 2,000 has reached 8.19 crore farmers, a total amount of Rs 16,394 crore. NSAP beneficiaries got Rs 1,405 crore in the first instalment and Rs 1,402 crore in 2nd instalment, target of Rs 3,000 crore nearly achieved,” Sitharaman said.
Under the scheme, an income support of Rs 6,000/- per year is provided to all farmer families across the country in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months. Since the launch of the scheme, five instalments of Rs 2,000 have been provided to the farmers so far.
